About 

Kyle DeMeo Cook, PhD is an education researcher and educator. Her research focuses on education and social policies and practices that support children and families from birth through higher education. Her research is conducted in partnership with practitioners, policymakers and other decision-makers prioritizing research questions that are directly applicable and actionable to the field.

Research
Her research expertise focuses on early education and child care including: child care decision-making, federal, state, and local policy, the transition to kindergarten, collaboration between early education and care and K-12 education, and family engagement in education. Her research is conducted in partnership with policy and practice stakeholders including federal, state, and local education and social services agencies, individual schools and programs and intermediary agencies. Her work has been funded by the American Educational Research Association and the US Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families.

Teaching 
She has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in education, research methods and child development and mentors students and educators on applied research projects.

Education
A graduate of Boston College’s Lynch School of Education and Human Development, she holds interdisciplinary degrees in Applied Developmental & Educational Psychology (PhD), Educational Research, Measurement and Evaluation (MEd), and Human Development (BA).

Current Position
She is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Policy & Leadership Studies and the Center on the Ecology of Early Development (CEED) at Boston University’s Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. 

Consulting 
She also provides consulting services to school districts, schools, early education programs, non-profits, museums and other organizations on research, evaluation, data analysis, survey development, logic models, research agenda setting, strategic planning and other services.
